ABUSE IN THE SAI BABA SAGA

Sathya Sai Baba preaches a more strongly puritan view on sexuality than the Victorians at their extreme. In line with his strict instruction to students to be celibate (until married), he claims he is pure. This is taken to mean chaste and celibate. However, there are much evidence that causes one to wonder whether the word celibacy is interpreted in India as meaning 'sex between males and females only'. Sathya Sai Baba's claimed sexual and
personal 'purity' is contradicted most strongly and widely by accounts from Western boys and males youth who tell in convincing detail how they have been sexually molested by him, including orally and worse. The whole matter of sexuality is avoided like the plague by Sai Baba in in all his countless discourses and in all reported group interviews. Only from private interviews (behind what has been called 'the doors of shame') is sexuality by him reported. That Sathya Sai Baba shows a massive preference for young
men and boys is uncontestable, as anyone who has been to a week or so darshans could see for themselves. This is also the case in group interviews, where he has frequently been reported as selecting a fair boy for close physical contact throughout the interview, a boy who he later takes behind the curtain or door where none in the group can see or hear him. I have personally seen this happen to one Swedish, one Danish and one Indian student boy.

The group on the right were taken in 1993 to see Sai Baba by one of his US devotees, Hal Honig of New York, about whom diverse reports of cover-up of homosexual behaviour have circulated. Speaking of genital oiling by Sathya Sai Baba, one of th whistle-blowers, Glen Meloy, wrote:- "...I first heard of the practice from then dear friends of mine, a Mother and Father of one of the California boys in Hal Honig's group in 1993 who had his genitals oiled during the same time period when the murders were being committed at the ashram."
The following was stated by Conny Larsson of the Sathya Sai Organization 'VIPs':- "...many of the victims have personally talked by phone to these people, when we tried to understand what was happening with us, but they all told us that this was "Divine" and we had to put up with it. We have talked to leaders as the American leaders dr. Goldstein, Phyllis Krystal, Hal Honig, Jagadeeshan, Gruber, Piculell, Meyer etc. and many, many others.
They have all expressed the same opinion "it’s divine"." Conny Larsson knew Hal Honig, reported he knows him to be homosexual, having formerly visited his place in New York:.
Sathya Sai Baba often winks slyly at
boys during his walkabout 'darshans' I have seen him make very strong suggestive eyes and signs to a young man in the darshan lines, one who was 'privileged' with a special reserved front place, because he was a voluntary worker in the Sai canteen [or for other reasons too?]. Later on, for having spoken of their sexual experiences with him, all young men
working in the foreigners' canteen were suddenly blacklisted and banned from visiting the ashram. The hypocritical reason given them was that 'Swami finds it incorrect for them to work in close contact with young ladies'. When my wife and met a young Norwegian journalist in 1999 I was told that she had seen Sai Baba do just this to her boyfriend as they came out of a private interview. Sai has told the boy to break off relations with her. I was still a believer in Sai Baba's claimed purity then and I argued against her. Now I know better.

Sai Baba has frequently been seen several times to grab young men's' crotches in the interview room, and reports of this are numerous. (See one example here) One boy in Hal Honig's group above took his
own life not long after reportedly telling a friend how he had been
sexually abused by Sai Baba! Unfortunately for the truth record this, being a very sensitive matter of course, was not publicised at the time. This group of boys/young men were present to see the bloody shambles
after the executions in Sathya Sai Baba's bedroom apartment on 6/6/1993 and many
of them left Sai Baba thereafter. A young man, the nephew of Elizabeth (known as 'Liz' and the US choir leader
at the ashram in former years) also reported he had been sexually abused, but this aunt of his says nothing and apparently continues to worship the said abuser.

The US ex-devotee Alaya Rahm (then still using the pseudonym 'Sam' - before he went fully public for the BBC documentary 'The Secret Swami') was interviewed
in the Danish film "Seduced" reported what others have said - namely that Sathya Sai Baba says to all his victims
"Do not tell anyone about this." This is common among pedophiles,
to swear their victims to secrecy and to use threats too. Sathya Sai Baba
used both money and threats to try to keep the then under-age Alaya Rahm silent.
Alaya was brought up from
childhood to believe Sathya Sai Baba is God, but - after long and harrowing sexual encounters - he spoke out. An example of real courage and truthfulness in
action! He tried to sue Sai Baba, but was unable to do so in the USA, not was any Sathya Sai Organisation registered which could be sued, so the case had to be abandoned. Despite this, fanatical supporters of Sai Baba make bogus claims to refute this, and to try to attack the Rahm family on trumped-up charges and with irrelevant side-issues (see here)
